Our course will introduce you to programming fundamentals that will deliver the knowledge individuals require to develop basic programming skills in the most commonly used programming languages. A person with this qualification could work as an assistant programmer in a team of software developers or as a support programmer to more senior programmers or systems analysts.

Upon completion of Certificate IV in Programming you will gain direct entry to the AIBT ICT50715 Diploma of Software Development or a range of other ICT15 Diploma qualifications.

Once you graduate, you will be able continue your studies at Diploma level or seek a career in the ICT industry with the intention of establishing a career in a software development capacity.

Entry Requirement 

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:

  • after achieving ICT30115 Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology,

Or

  • other relevant qualifications or units equivalent to the core of ICT30115

Or

  • with demonstrated vocational experience in a range of programming-related work environments in software programming, application programming, web development or similar.

Additional Entry Requirement for International Students

  • Literacy and mathematical skills equivalent to Year 11 in the Australian Schooling System.
  • International students MUST have minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent
