Students must be 18 years of age or older and have completed a relevant Certificate III in an ICT or related qualification or have six months industry experience.

Applicants for this qualification without relevant formal qualifications or experience may be requested to undertake a pre-assessment of industry knowledge and skills prior to enrolment to ensure the required foundational knowledge is in place to build upon with this Certificate IV level study.

For RPL to be granted, the course applicant must provide quality evidence that s/he:

  • Has attained the competencies described in the unit/s of competency that are being claimed
  • Possesses current competency in the unit/s that are being claimed
  • Possesses the required underpinning knowledge specified in the unit/s of competency
  • Has applied the relevant competencies in a context that is applicable to their area of specialisation in resource and infrastructure.

The evidence, which has been gathered by the assessor or the candidate, as proof of current competency may take a variety of forms and could include certification, references from past employers, testimonials from clients and work samples.

The assessor must ensure that such evidence complies with the rules of evidence, namely that it is authentic, valid, reliable, current and sufficient.

What is the total cost?

The full retail price of the Certificate IV in Information Technology (Systems administration support) is $3900 online (2024 pricing).

An equipment fee of $250 is payable at enrolment.
